To Create a New Custom Property from Word or Excel
- Select .
- In the Properties dialog, select the Custom tab.
-
In the Name field, type a new attribute name.
The name you specify here must be identical to the name of the new custom property your administrator created in ProjectWise Administrator. For example, if your administrator created a new custom property in ProjectWise Administrator called Document_Workflow_State, then you must give the property same name here.
-
In the Value field, enter a text string as a placeholder value.
Word or Excel will not let you add the property without specifying a value, so just enter any text string here. As the final step in this procedure, you will update the document so that the correct value is used.
- Click Add.
-
Click
OK.
-
Now click Update Document.
This updates the value of all the custom properties with their current values from ProjectWise, so that the placeholder value you entered in step 4 is overwritten with the correct value of the property from ProjectWise.
